DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT:
I have often felt the sting of isolation and judgement for thinking differently. This film is deeply personal—born from a place of personal experience and deep admiration for those in my life whose unique ways of seeing and being in the world have both challenged and profoundly moved me.

Being close to people who experience the world differently, I wanted to create something beautiful – something that could hold the joy and freedom of perceiving life through a different lens, while not shying away from the quiet, often invisible challenges that come with that difference. There is a delicate balance between wonder and struggle, and I wanted the film to honour both with honesty and care.

From the beginning, my vision aligned with Zara’s ideas about telling the story through the lens of magical realism. We both felt that this approach could express emotional truths in ways that realism alone could not – making the invisible visible, the internal felt. Through this shared language, we shaped a world that mirrors reality while gently bending it to reveal something deeper.

This film is a love letter to those who walk through life just a little offbeat, a little outside, but no less whole – and often, far more luminous.
